A growing trend in both human and pet food markets is to produce less processed foods or to make a natural claim. To meet this demand, food manufacturers are formulating new products or reformulating existing products to offer foods with a "cleaner" label using more natural ingredients. This can present a multitude of challenges to the formulator to develop food that is safe, looks and tastes good, and has an extended shelf life. Danisco has the technical capabilities to assist with these concerns.

 

Danisco offers a full line of antioxidants for inhibiting lipid oxidation and for flavor protection. Products include traditional pure antioxidants or liquid blends to natural mixed tocopherols as well as a full line of dry or liquid rosemary extract products. Danisco also offers a complete range of antimicrobial products for shelf life protection and/or pathogen control

against gram positive bacteria including spores, gram negative bacteria, and yeast and molds. The above products are obtained by fermentation, purified antimicrobials such as Nisaplin and Natamax. The company is involved in testing specific antioxidants and antimicrobials in a large range of food applications.
